Vietnam invested over 2.65 billion U. S. dollars in 22 projects in the first quarter this year, according to Vietnam's Ministry of Planning and Investment on Monday. Most of the investment was poured into mining sector with 1.92 billion dollars (72.3 percent), accommodation, catering service with 335 million dollars (12.6 percent) and information and communications service with 237.7 million dollars (8.9 percent), said the ministry. To date, Vietnam has invested in 742 projects in 59 countries and territories, with a total capital of 15.5 billion dollars. Laos attracted most of the capital with 4.2 billion dollars, followed by Cambodia with 2.73 billion dollars and Russia with 2. 36 billion dollars.
