The World Bank (WB) reiterated on Sunday its keenness to continue to provide economic support for Yemen. During his meeting with Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammed al-Sa'adi, WB's Executive Director Merza Hasan praised the level of implementation of WB-funded projects in Yemen and the performance of the Planning and International Cooperation Ministry in strengthening the existing cooperation between the country and the donor community, including the WB. The Minister lauded the vital role the World Bank played in the support of stability and development paths in Yemen, and its commitment to fulfill the allocation of the funds the Bank pledged to grant to Yemen in the Riyadh donor meeting. Al-Sa'adi said that the Bank is a model of international development institutions that hastened to fulfill their funding pledges through finalizing the allocation procedures and signing implementation agreements to start the government's priority projects included in the Transitional Program for Stabilization and Development (TPSD) 2012-2014.
