Yemen and the UK discussed here on Tuesday the possible means to resume the Yemenia airline company's flights to British airports. This came in a meeting brought together Transport Minister Waed Bathib with a UK security team headed by Tim Figures, the Director of Aviation Security at UK Department for Transport. They discussed a number of topics related to actions taken recently by Yemen to enhance the Yemeni airports security. After appreciating the UK efforts to support the success of the political settlement in Yemen and the national dialogue as well, the Minister reviewed the measures taken by the transport ministry to raise the competence of the security and technical aspects in airports. The ministry gives airport security a top priority and will work with all possible means to provide the best services in this regard, Bathib said. The UK official expressed satisfaction with the security measures adopted by Yemen in airports. Mr. Figures underscored his country's keenness on providing assistances to Yemen to overcome 2011 crisis and its repercussions and improving the cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including transport.
