Jeddah - Arabstoday
The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu yesterday signed four contracts worth SR526 million, including one agreement to build a new headquarters building for the commission at a cost of SR299 million. Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan, president of the Royal Commission, signed the contracts with Beijing Construction Engineering Group and Assad Bulgo Company. The first contract with Beijing included construction of infrastructure facilities around the new headquarters building, an official statement said. “The Royal Commission wanted to develop the central part of Yanbu city considering prospects of its future development as a sprawling business city,” the statement said and highlighted the importance of the first two contracts. The new building would be constructed in a 56,000 square meter area and its two sides will be facing the Red Sea. The project comprises construction of two adjacent buildings, parks and service facilities. Assad Bulgo won the third and fourth contracts worth SR227 million, which are aimed at constructing infrastructure and housing units in Mushairef-2 neighborhood in Yanbu Industrial City. “This is the fifth phase of a project aimed at building housing units in the city covering nearly 18 hectares,” the RC said in the statement. Mushairef-2 is a new residential district developed by the commission to provide housing facilities for employees in the industrial city. During the past years RC has developed a number of residential districts. They are named Nahda, Subh, King Khaled, Nuwat, Sumairy, Radwi, Buthna, Oyoun, Nakheel, Aziziya, Jabiriya, Faisal, Jar and Fahd. In another development, Alaa bin Abdullah Naseef, CEO of the Royal Commission for Yanbu, presented certificates of operation to Azel Rockwool Insulation Products Factory and Yanbu National Hospital. He presented the certificates while receiving officials of the two institutions. The Rockwool factory is located in the area for light industries and belongs to Al-Maimani Group. It includes production and storage facilities. The national hospital in Nuwat belongs to Al-Mutabagani Health Services Company, and its new expansion includes an intensive care unit, outpatient clinics and support facilities.
