Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes renewed her contract with ABC studios through 2018 on Tuesday, and announced the new show How to Get Away with Murder. The deal will mean Rhimes' production house, Shondaland, will remain with ABC studios until 2018, along with any content it produces. Rhimes is the creator of the medical drama Grey's Anatomy, which is in its tenth season, and the hit Washington D.C.-based drama Scandal, which just wrapped up its third season. Rhimes and ABC also announced a new Shondaland show Tuesday called How to Get Away with Murder, starring Viola Davis as a brilliant law professor trying to solve a mystery with her students. The show will air at 10 p.m. on Thursdays, creating an entire night of Rhimes' shows. Betsy Beers runs Shondaland with Rhimes and is an executive producer on both Grey's Anatomy and Scandal.
