Hong Kong actress Athena Chu and her musician boyfriend, Paul Wong of rock band Beyond, confirmed Tuesday that Chu is thee months pregnant with Wong's child, reported Hong Kong media. Rumours had been rife that Chu, who had been dating Wong for the past 14 years, is pregnant after she was photographed sporting a small belly and visiting a gynaecologist about two months ago. These rumours intensified when Chu posted a photo of her and Wong hugging in the nude in a micro blog post on Tuesday afternoon, and said, "Child, I really want you to know, even if the world collapses, I'll still love you. You are the greatest here." In response to her post, Wong then said over his micro blog that he had "always thought 'Love' is something that involves two people, but from now on, we will no longer be just two. I love you". Chu and Wong's micro blog posts created a stir among their fans but the couple only confirmed that Chu is pregnant on Tuesday night, when they returned to Hong Kong after a trip to Malaysia. Speaking to reporters at the airport with 40-year-old Chu following closely behind him, Wong, who recently turned 48, said the baby was the best birthday present he has received. Wong added that he and Chu had actually planned to marry at the end of this year or early next year, but the unexpected baby has forced them to bring forward their wedding plans. "This (Chu's pregnancy) is something that is outside [our] expectations. It is really sudden but [we're] very happy," said Wong. "We are not married yet, but we will quickly arrange it."
