British actress Sophiya Haque has died in London after battles with cancer, pneumonia and a blood clot in her lungs, her agent said. She was 41. "Sophiya was a wonderful actress, a wonderful client, but so much more than that, a wonderful friend. She was adored by everyone she worked with and will be deeply missed," her agent, Oliver Thomson, said when he confirmed her Jan. 16 death to the Evening Standard newspaper. Best known as a presenter for MTV Asia and for her portrayal of barmaid Poppy Morales on TV's "Coronation Street," Haque had been performing in the West End production of "Privates on Parade" shortly before she died. Her uncle, Syed Haque, told the Evening Standard she was "a loveable person and very beautiful." "She was a true force of nature and her glorious performance as Sylvia in 'Privates on Parade' is one that will be remembered with great joy," the Michael Grandage Company said in a statement posted on Twitter. "A spirited lady, she lived life to the full, and her presence in the theater will be sorely missed. The company would like to dedicate the remaining performances to her memory."
