Michael Douglas earned an Emmy Sunday night in Los Angeles for his portrayal of iconic entertainer Liberace in the TV movie "Behind the Candelabra." "This is a two-hander and you're only as good as your other hand," Douglas joked, acknowledging Matt Damon, his co-star and fellow nominee in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Movie or Miniseries. In his acceptance speech, Douglas thanked Catherine Zeta-Jones, his estranged wife, and their two young sons Dylan and Carys. He also said he hopes to soon see Cameron, his adult son from a previous marriage, who is incarcerated on a drug-dealing conviction. "Behind the Candelabra" was named Outstanding Movie or Miniseries and Steven Soderbergh, the filmmaker who helmed it, Outstanding Director of a Movie or Miniseries. Laura Linney, who was not present at the ceremony, was declared the winner of the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Movie or Miniseries for her work in "The Big C." James Cromwell won the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Movie or Miniseries Emmy for his work in "American Horror Story: Asylum," while the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Movie or Miniseries honor went to Ellen Burstyn for "Political Animals."
