Comedian John Pinette checks into rehab

U.S. stand-up comedian John Pinette has checked into rehab and is undergoing treatment for an addiction to prescription medication, TMZ reported Tuesday. Pinette, 49, underwent unspecified surgery earlier this year and became dependent on the drugs he was taking, the celebrity news website said. Where he is undergoing treatment and how long he is expected to stay in the facility were not reported. "Thanks to everyone for your concern and well wishes.. Want to apologize for having missed shows last weekend, but I hope you understand!" Pinette tweeted Tuesday.
