Donna Douglas, best known as Elly May Clampett from the The Beverly Hillbillies, died of pancreatic cancer Thursday at Baton Rouge General Hospital in Louisiana at the age of 82.
Douglas played the animal-loving daughter of Jed Clampett (Buddy Ebsen) and was a member of the hijinks-prone family that moved to Beverly Hills after they accidentally struck oil.
She also starred in Mister Ed, The Twilight Zone, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, Adam 12, and Route 66.
Douglas was involved in lawsuits over the film Sister Act, the story for which she says was her idea, and the Mattel Barbie of her likeness.
