Six workers at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles were fired for accessing Kim Kardashian's medical records after she gave birth, sources told TMZ. David Blake, the hospital's chief privacy officer confirmed the six employees were dismissed over the privacy breaches, but didn't confirm the identity of the patients' records, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday. Four of the workers fired were employees of community hospitals who have privileges at the hospital, one was a medical assistant employed by the hospital and one was an unpaid student research assistant, the Times said. Five of the workers accessed one patient's record, while the sixth accessed 14 records between June 18-25. The hospital has "a high standard for security," and "unauthorized access to any patient's record is, quite simply, unacceptable," Blake said. Sources told TMZ Kardashian was one of the patients notified by Cedars-Sinai that her records were inappropriately accessed. The family suspected the reality star's privacy was breached when information about the June 15 birth of her daughter, North West, surfaced in the media.
