Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from NBA basketball player Kris humphries after just 72 days of marriage. The 31-year-old recruited top lawyer Laura Wasser within hours of citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ for the break-up. In a statement the socialite and acclaimed fashionista said: "After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best." The couple made sure to sign a pre-nuptial agreement before the wedding, nullifying the chance of an ugly court battle. Kardashian was reportedly tormented and couldn’t stop crying days before she filed for divorce The tipping point was when Kardashian found out that Humphries had hired a Hollywood publicist to help him work on his image. The voluptuous reality star reportedly said: “He’s not in f**king Hollywood. He plays sports.” The celebrity couple tied the knot in August this year in front of 440 guests at a lavish wedding in California. Guests included Lindsay Lohan, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria and tennis player Serena Williams. Last week the reality TV star and her basketball player husband were fighting off rumours in the press that they were about to split.
