Melissa Gilbert recalls dating Tom Cruise decades ago

Actress Melissa Gilbert revealed on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" she dated Tom Cruise when he first arrived in Hollywood decades ago. "When I dated him, he was Tom Mapother still," the 49-year-old actress said of Cruise, who is now 51. "He had just moved to Los Angeles," she said. "I did not have sex with him. We made out, but honestly, there was no sex. He was a struggling actor and I was working. I actually bought him his first set of dishes." Two people she doesn't have fond memories of, however, are her former "Little House on the Prairie" co-stars Shannen Doherty and Melissa Sue Anderson. Gilbert explained Doherty had a brief fling with her first husband, Bo Brinkman. "[I] would just punch her in the nose," Gilbert said about what she would do if ever ran into Doherty again. Gilbert went on to describe Anderson as "hateful, horrid, mean, terrible, mean, difficult." "She hated me. She knocked me off the wagon when I was 9," Gilbert said.
