Sarah Lane was only trying to celebrate a friend's nuptials when she was recorded performing a less-than-sober rendition of "What's Up" by 4 Non Blonde's. Unfortunately for Sarah, a celebrity with an Instagram account was watching.
The clip quickly went viral after it was posted by Fast and Furious star Michelle Rodriguez, in part because of the catchy nostalgia of the song, in part because any celebrity social media has built-in viewership -- but mostly because Lane gets really into it.
"I was summoned to the stage quite late in the night after a few bottles of wine," Lane told the Daily Mail.
"I had no idea [the clip was out there]. We went for brunch on the Sunday and someone said, 'You're on Instagram.' I said, 'I know I'm on Instagram' as I've got an account and they said, 'No, you're actually on Instagram --Michelle put a clip up of you.'"
Lane said that she was "mortified," as she went into the wedding nervous she'd embarrass herself in front of family and friends, but certainly wasn't worried about the entire world.
"I'm 26. I started getting older, maybe lost my confidence. Social media got bigger and I felt really self-conscious about people taking photos - now look what's happened."
Lane, who was the maid of honor at the wedding, said she hasn't spoken to Rodriguez yet, but, "when I do speak to her she's got a lot to answer for."
