Promotion for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot has begun ahead of the film's release this summer. The upcoming movie released its first trailer at the end of March, and unveiled its first character posters Tuesday. The four shots feature one Turtle each, and highlight the character's weapon of choice. Leonardo, whose costume has blue elements, grasps the handle of his katana sword, and Michaelangelo, in yellow, holds a pair of nunchucks. Raphael wields his sai in red, while Donatello grips his bow staff in purple. Pete Ploszek (Leonardo), Noel Fisher (Michaelangelo), Alan Ritchson (Raphael) and Jeremy Howard (Donatello) provide the physical portrayal for each turtle in the movie. The actors performed the characters' movements, and turtle effects were later added with CGI. Other actors, including Johnny Knoxville (Leonardo), have been brought on to provide the characters' voices. The new film follows the four turtles as they defend New York City from The Shredder (William Fichtner) and his evil Foot Clan. Megan Fox also stars as reporter April O'Neil, and Danny Woodburn and Tony Shalhoub provide the body and voice, respectively, for Splinter. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will debut in theaters on August 8.
