Rajesh Khanna discharged from hospital

Bollywood's first superstar, Rajesh Khanna is back home after a two-week stint in Mumbai's Lilawati hospital. The 69-year-old actor was admitted in the hospital on June 23 due to weakness and exhaustion. His estranged wife, Dimple Kapadia, who has been by his side throughout his illness, told the media that the veteran actor is back home after he was discharged on Saturday. "He is absolutely fine now," Dimple told news agency IANS. Earlier Rajesh Khanna still in hospital but fighting Bollywood veteran Rajesh Khanna will soon be discharged from the Hospital. The actor who has lately been suffering from health issues was admitted to Lilavati hospital. “He is much better today (Tuesday). He is not getting discharged today. He will be back home in a couple of days,” Dimple Kapadia, his wife told IANS. The couple had separated in 1984 but since, the news of Rajesh Khanna’s ailment, she is more often seen taking care of him. Dimple Kapadia had earlier announced that the actor would be discharged on Tuesday. However, the doctors say he will take some time to recover. The man with a charming persona has been ill for quite some time. His manager told the media a couple of days back that the star had not been eating for three to four days. The 69-year old, was a heart throb of many in his era. In fact, a tough competitor to the evergreen actor Amitabh Bachchan. Upon hearing the condition of their hero several crowded near his bungalow named ‘Aashirwad’ to catch a glimpse of him. Rajesh Khanna did not disappoint his fans. He stepped out and waved at them the next day. Until then his wife Dimple and son–in–law Akshay Kumar claimed that he was doing just “fine”. Previously Rajesh Khanna was hospitalised for 3 days after he complained of feeling uneasiness. The King of Romance got married to his “Sapno ki Rani” (Queen of his dreams) – Dimple Kapadia in 1973. But their perfect life did not last too long. The couple have two daughters Twinkle Khanna and Rinkie Khanna. Both of them have been Bollywood actors but unfortunately were not appreciated as much as their parents.
