New York radio personality Robin Quivers said Monday she is cancer-free after battling the disease for the past year. Quivers, 61, said on Howard Stern's Sirius XM show it took 12 hours for surgeons to remove the grapefruit-sized tumor last May. She also underwent chemotherapy and other forms of treatment after the disease was found in her endometrial tissue. Fortunately, she is now cancer-free. "[The tumor] was so huge that it was lying on all the organs in my pelvis, and they literally had to scrape it off when they got to it," Quivers said. "They couldn't even figure out how to operate at one point because it was so massive." "I gotta be honest, I thought she was a goner," Stern said about Quivers, who has worked as his radio sidekick since 1981. Quivers was out of the radio studio for several months in 2013 due to health issues but she did not publicly confirm her battle with cancer until Monday.
