Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra visit Melbourne

After promoting their latest film Teri Meri Kahaani at the recent IIFA awards in Singapore, the actors Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor flew to Australia on Sunday. "Just landed in Melbourne. My first time in Australia, but just for a day for Teri Meri Kahaani promotions," Kapoor posted on Twitter. Directed by Kunal Kohli and filmed entirely in the UK, the romance drama will travel through three time zones - 1910, 1960 and 2012, hence its tagline, "Thrice upon a love story". Chopra and Kapoor play a different role for each period. It is their latest on-screen collaboration after the 2009 thriller and box-office hit Kaminey. The film is set to premiere in Indian cinemas on June 22. * IANS Shanghai's soundtrack drew on Indian street music Mikey McCleary, the composer for Dibakar Banerjee's new political thriller Shanghai, says he relied a lot on Indian street music for the songs. "We mixed Indian street music with ambient sounds. It was fascinating learning about the pulse and rhythm of street music," he said. Set in a shanty town, Shanghai puts the spotlight on corruption and other problems plaguing the Indian political scene. Born in India to New Zealander parents, McCleary made his Bollywood debut in the 2009 film Aao Wish Karein. He has also worked with AR Rahman and the musician brothers Salim and Sulaiman Merchant. * IANS Star-studded Dhoom 3 shoot begins The filming of Dhoom 3, the third instalment of the action film series, began last Friday. Uday Chopra, one of the movie's stars, Tweeted his excitement. "Today Dhoom 3 officially begins. For me, it begins with a killer leg workout!" posted Chopra, whose older brother Aditya is the film's producer. The first two films, from 2004 and 2006, were critical and box-office successes, which the cast and crew hope to maintain. "It is possibly one of the best scripts coming out of our production house," said Yash Chopra of Yash Raj Films. Dhoom 3, written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, stars Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Abhishek Bachchan. * IANS Big B: adverts tougher than films The Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who has just finished shooting an ad for noodles, says he finds making a commercial more difficult than a three-hour film. "One would imagine that a one-minute 'film' would be a piece of cake for those of us who make films that last three hours. No, baby! It's a tougher job," Bachchan wrote on his website. "In one minute, one has to convince and convey to the viewer what most of us need three hours to do! There is meticulous work done after great deliberation. It's a specialised venture."
