One killed, another injured in Southern Baghdad

A person was killed and another wounded on Tuesday when a bomb planted in their car exploded in Jilawi area that belongs to Musayab district 50 km north of Babel, Southern Baghdad. A police source in Babel told the National Iraqi news agency (NINA) that the bomb also destroyed the car and the wounded was transported to the hospital for treatment. Hassan Cammuna, Member of Babel Provincial Council, told reporters that the Council decided to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the deteriorating security situation after yesterday's blast which occurred near a local stadium in Akramin neighborhood in Hilla city, killing and wounding 40 people. The provincial council may sack some police officers and directors due to the bombings, he added.
