Egyptian Irrigation Ministry on high alert to meet water needs

The Water Resources and Irrigation Ministry declared on Tuesday the state of emergency in all its 1,650 irrigation and sanitation plants across Egypt to provide water needed for agriculture, industry, drinking and river navigation.
The move comes as Egypt is going through a severe heat wave.
In press statements, Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Hossam Moghazi ordered to secure barrages and water reservoirs.
