Mini has announced it will unveil the most powerful version of the Countryman in March 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show. The car is currently being tested in winter conditions in Austria and this is the first official spy shot. The new John Cooper Works Countryman will be based on the current, most powerful version of the vehicle; the Cooper S that uses a 177 HP turbocharged 1.6-liter engine. However, the final output will be increased significantly, making the 0 to 60 mph sprint achievable in 7.0 seconds instead of 7.6. Next to being the most powerful version, the Countryman JCW will also receive a new sports suspension and upgraded rear brakes, as well as a lowering kit that will drop it by 10mm. The exterior will benefit from a different grille and front bumper, flared wheel arches, a new rear bumper, and a new diffuser with integrated dual exhausts.
