Daimler AG and Warren Buffett-backed BYD Co aim for their jointly-made electric cars under the Denza brand to be top quality as the two partners seek to build sales networks for the new energy model. Shenzhen BYD Daimler New Technology Co, owner of Denza, plans to unveil dealerships for Denza in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen by the end of July, Hu Xiaoqing, manager at the company's marketing department, said yesterday. Lian Yubo, chief executive officer of Shenzhen BYD Daimler New Technology Co, said that Denza aims to be the top quality Chinese electric automobile. With its first mass-production model scheduled to debut globally at the end of this year, Denza will drive into a competitive domestic green sector where BYD, the Roewe brand of SAIC Motor Corp, China's biggest automaker, and Chery are the leaders. At the Shanghai Auto Show in April, Denza displayed its latest high-voltage safety technology for electric cars and successful results from its recent field tests.
