France's new car sales in February stood at 143,366, down by 12.1 percent from the same period last year, French car sales federation (CCFA) said on Friday. For the first two months of the year, French car sales fell by 13.5 percent, according to the CCFA. In February, PSA Peugeor Citroen, France's largest manufacturer, posted a 15.5 percent decline in sales, while Renault also reported a loss of 10.8 percent. Due to a limping global economy, non-French brands also lured less clients worldwide. In 2012, new car sales in France plunged by nearly 14 percent to barely 1.9 million, the lowest record in 15 years, media report said. French government is mulling measures to reinforce production of environmentally-friendly vehicles through an auto sector rescue package.
