
The Middle-East's largest car manufacturer, Iran-Khodro Company (IKCO) set a new month production record after producing 75871 cars in November. In order to meet customers' demands and regulate the market, IKCO has produced 449,179 cars in eight months since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year i.e. March 21 to October 23; that is 10 thousand cars more than the same period last year. "The company has manufactured 119,496 Peugeot 206 in different types, 115,191 Peugeots 405, 92,196 units of Samand in different models, and 58,180 units of Pars have been produced by the company during the said period of time," IKCO's public relations department said. "During this eight-month period, IKCO has also manufactured 72,190 Bardo pickups, 20 thousand Roas, 18,696 units of Tondar 90 (Logan), 3,199 units of Suzuki Grand Vitara and 31 Runnas," it added. The report further mentioned that IKCO targets to manufacture 800 thousand units of passenger cars by the end of this Iranian year, i.e. March 21, 2012.
