Mercedes-Benz Korea will recall 112 units of its sedans sold in South Korea for a defective brake system that could affect driving safety, Seoul's transportation ministry said Monday. Five models are subject to the recall, including the ML270CDI, ML320 and ML400CDI, sold here between Aug. 1, 1999 and June 30, 2004, according to the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. The ministry said a faulty brake switch could deter the operation of a fixed-speed running gear. Owners of vehicles subject to the recall may contact any service center run by Mercedes-Benz Korea for free repairs from Tuesday, or have their costs reimbursed if they have already replaced the defective part.
