Nissan Tiida has won the ‘Best Budget Hatchback of the Year’ award for 2013 in the Middle East region from the ‘Car & Driver Magazine.’ Samir Cherfan, managing director, Nissan Middle East, dubbed the award as the result of another highly innovative approach in a very competitive sector. “In a segment that has so many excellent products, it is even more gratifying to be recognised as the leading model. With Tiida we have proved that the best budget vehicles are often the best value as well,” said Cherfan. The new Nissan Tiida was introduced into the Middle East in 2005 and it now commands 54 per cent of the market in the Gulf, he stated. “The Tiida’s build quality, spec levels and competitive pricing make it an obvious choice for the award,” said Carlin Gerbrich, editor-in-chief, Car and Driver Middle East Magazine.
