Porsche pulls out all the stops with redesigned Boxster S

Just when we were beginning to think Porsche had forgotten how to build good-looking cars, along comes this spy shot of an undisguised 2012 Boxster S. We can clearly see the body lines of the new convertible and, although the familiar Porsche face hasn't gone anywhere, the side profile of the Boxster now features dramatic side-strakes and sizable air inlets positioned just forward of a set of bold wheel arches filled with lovely multi-spoke alloys. It's almost like a mini Carrera GT. Toward the rear of the new model, we can clearly see a new integrated lip spoiler that spans across the entirety of the car's rump. That's exciting enough but it's likely this model will be powered by a new 2.5L flat four-cylinder, so the 2012 Boxster could pack as much as 360hp. Expect to see it appearing at motor shows over the next few months.
