
The Chechen government will buy seven airliners Sukhoi SuperJet-100 for the Grozny-Avia airline and one SSJ-100 VIP model, Chechen Deputy Transport Minister Alvi Shakhgiriyev told reporters at the aerospace show MAKS on Wednesday. The agreement will be signed on August 29, he said. Airliners will start shipping to the republic in early 2014. The official did not disclose cost of the purchase. Alvi Shakhgiriyev added that Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov initiated the decision to buy Russian airliners. On the first day of MAKS-2013, August 27, Russian aircraft manufacturers sold 129 civilian planes. It was later reported that Russian aircraft building company MiG, which is incorporated in the United Aircraft Corporation, concluded two additional agreements with the Indian company Basant Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov voiced his expectations for the air show on August 24.
