The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has succeeded over the past 40 years to achieve the goals of sustainable development through the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and infrastructure growth in member countries of the IDB, said a Kuwaiti minister on Wednesday.Kuwait's Minister of Finance Anas Al-Saleh told KUNA here that his country was proud of IDB's achievements and would continue supporting its activities for a brighter future. He said he hoped that these activities would impel IDB to expand eventually beyond the Arab and Islamic worlds to assume a prominent position on the international banking scene, while at the same time achieving that through the strict application of its Islamic compliance banking policies. He noted moreover that there was "strategic" cooperation between IDB and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), stressing the enormous work done by the latter to support growth and development in numerous parts of the world.
