
The French Embassy in Cairo in cooperation with the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the French Chamber Of Commerce in Egypt will organize a symposium in Alexandria on October 17 under the rubric "Two centuries of French-Egyptian ties."
The symposium is scheduled to be opened by French Ambassador to Egypt André Parant and head of Bibliotheca Alexandrina Ismail Serageldin, the embassy said in a statement Tuesday.
The two-day symposium will shed light on the distinguished ties binding Egypt and France, added the statement.
Former Arab League chief Amr Moussa and a former French ambassador to Egypt will shed light on the political and diplomatic aspects of ties between the two countries.
Antiquities Minister Khaled el Anani will also review the Egyptian-French cooperation in Egyptology.
