Smartworld has appointed Ahmad Al Ansari as the new chairman of Smartworld, an information communication technology (ICT) joint venture between Dubai World Central (DWC) and etisalat that delivers fully integrated and comprehensive managed services across the Middle East. Al Ansari also serves as Deputy Chief Audit Executive of Dubai Aviation City Corporation (DACC). Al Ansari’s strong financial experience and solid track record in the aviation industry will be crucial as Smartworld moves forward with its multi-sector, regional expansion plans, particularly in key growth sectors such as aviation. Smartworld has been awarded contracts to provide a wide range of ICT services to leading industry players and key projects in the UAE. The company has recently won the Special Air Systems (SAS) contract for the expansion of Dubai International Airport Terminal 2, while Smartworld also provides IT support to various etisalat customers in Abu Dhabi.
