Figures released by Beirut airport showed that the total number of airport passengers rose 8.88 percent in the first seven months of 2012 to reach 3.4 million, compared to 3.13 million recorded last year. In the month of July, total travelers decreased by 8 percent to 645,656, compared to the same month last year. Also, in July arrivals dropped by 12.5 percent to 316,467 and departures declined by 2.83 percent to 324,286. Emiratis topped the list of visitors in July with a share of 14.94 percent.
