The temperatures are for sure rising and even as outdoor activities for children and adults begin to dwindle, stifled by the heat, the capital’s kids have found a perfect escapade within the city. The Summer in Abu Dhabi festival at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, spread over four sprawling halls, has kept hundreds of children and adults occupied with a fine mixture of fun, frolic, music, art, culture and sport activities. One of the feature additions is the Sea Lion Show with Swammy, Songa and Still enthralling the kids in daily live 20-minute shows. Apart from the family-centric activities and award-winning international acts and shows, including the Ice Age Zone - a themed park based on the popular movie Ice Age, the Adventure World — a Telematch style area, and the Galactic Academy — eight different challenges and fun activities there is also a whole section for the sport-lovers.The Abu Dhabi Sports Council is hosting a range of activities and workshops as part of its Sport & Games Festival open to visitors from five to 35 years of age with judo, basketball, soccer, table tennis, tennis, badminton and golf games on offer. The Summer in Abu Dhabi festival kicked off on June 21 and will be running until July 19 so for those who are yet to unwind after a hard academic year you can head to the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. from gulfnews.com
