Lufthansa cancels 2-thirds of Friday flights over strike

German airline Lufthansa announced it was cancelling two-thirds of Friday's flights, as a cabin staff union acted on its threat to call a 24-hour stoppage at German airports following earlier action. The Independent Flight Attendants' Organisation (UFO) called the action on Wednesday, one day after its members staged eight-hour walkouts at key German airports as part of a dispute over pay and conditions.
