The Russian Federal Tourism Agency (Rosturism) have been jointly working with Egypt to ensure the safety of the Russian tourists heading to Egypt this summer. Alexander Radkov, head of Rosturism said "Toward this end we have set up a special commission on security jointly with Egyptian colleagues in the Ministry of Tourism for constant monitoring of the situation at resorts," Russian News agency (Itar-Tass) quoted him as saying. He said there have been talks and contacts with Egypt to increase the number of qualified medics employed at hotels in Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada. Radkov said the percentage of Russian tourists heading to Egypt has seen an intensive growth starting the first quarter of 2012 after it has decreased by 40% last year.
