
Paintings and photographs at Damascus-based Abu Rummaneh Cultural Centre
More than forty paintings, pictures and photographs were displayed at an exhibition under the title of "Greeting to Homeland" which was opened on Wednesday at Damascus-based Abu Rummaneh Cultural Center. The works were diverse
in terms of the topics and materials used, as the pictures were either realistic, expressionist, symbolic or abstract. The artists used different sorts of tools including watercolors, oil paints, gouache, ink and pastel colors, in addition to photography.
The topics of the displayed pictures revolved around the patriotic and humane dimensions, as the works constituted a panoramic view of the Syrian life for more than forty years.
The content of victory , happiness, agony and bitterness that the Syrians have lived during the war, in addition to the values of martyrdom and the culture of sacrifice for the homeland were embodied.
The Exhibition was organized under the patronage of Arab Socialist al-Baath Party, Damascus Branch, Syrian Artists Union and the Syrian Arab Army's Political Administration.
