Abu Dhabi Festival has announced that it is to exhibit artwork by two flourishing Emirati artists this year.
The Festival, which marks its ten-year anniversary, commissioned Jalal Luqman and Mattar bin Lahej and will have their pieces on display
at The Galleria Mall on Mariah island in Abu Dhabi until the14th of May.
Huda Kano, Chairperson of the Abu Dhabi Group for Culture and Arts, said that the Abu Dhabi Festival always aims to embrace and encourage the work of contemporary Emirati artists through its events.
Speaking about his art piece entitled 'A Viewpoint', Mr. Luqman, a Digital Artist and Sculptor, said, "Searching for the truth is often the goal but as human beings we believe that anything of value in life requires effort so we choose to either simplify or complicate things and that usually boils down to our point of view." The second artist, Mattar bin Lahej from Dubai, entered a piece entitled "The Soul of Culture", which he says represents the modern phenomenon that sees art and technology converge together.
Abu Dhabi Festival is the UAE's foremost celebration of art and culture which brings together some of the greatest musicians, performers and artists from around the world to the UAE.
