Hollywood’s ‘World War Z’ has tipped the 500 million US dollar worldwide milestone, filmmakers Paramount Pictures have said.
The zombie apocalyptic thriller starring Brad Pitt surpassed ‘Troy’, to become Pitt’s highest grossing film ever, Hollywood film critic Deadline.com said.
Direct by Marc Forster, best known for ‘The Kite Runner’ and ‘Quantum of Solace’, ‘World War Z’ is an adaptation of Max Brooks’ 2006 novel.
The film attracted controversy after it showed Palestinian Arabs and Israeli Jews united behind a wall, from attacking zombies, in the occupied Palestinian territory.
Critics attributed this to Israel’s controversial Jerusalem’s dividing wall, which separates Palestinian Arabs from their lands in the city.
