Critics defend "Youm Lelstat" after a criticism wave

Some journalists criticized "Youm Lelstat" movie, starred by Egyptian actress Elham Shahen, raising controversy among artists and critics. It came after the movie's failure to win any award in the Egyptian Cinema Film Association Festival, despite it has represented Egypt in the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) and won the Best Actress Award.
Elham shahen said that her movie was selected by the CIFF management to represent Egypt in the official competition and she will not defend the movie after it obtained an official award.
Critic Mohamed El-Shafay said that it is not acceptable to attack a movie after it was screened in an international festival, because it means that we are suspecting the integrity of the jury, taking into account that the head of the jury was German and he could not be bias for the movie.
Critic Fathy El-Ashry said that some movies tackle international problems such as "Youm Lelstat" which discussed the life of women, noting that most of icon director Youssef Shahen's movies were criticized in Egypt, despite of receiving international awards.
