Iranian American community is subject of US reality show

The main cast of the TV series London – Caroline Kent Shahs of Sunset is an American reality television series on the channel Bravo. The series follows a group of Iranian American friends living in Beverly Hills, as they juggle active social lives with the demands of tradition. The second season debuted earlier this month and figures have shown that the episode drew in 2.3 million viewers, a huge jump in popularity that the producers and cast are excited by.
Produced by Ryan Seacrest, the show is described by Bravo as: “A group of friends who are fervent on the dating and party scene, but seeking approval from their family, face pressures to settle down and marry within the community. From outings on Rodeo Drive to traditional Persian feasts at home, this series celebrates the unique lifestyle of a group of friends who have worked hard for what they have and are not afraid to flaunt it.” The show has been received by some as patronising and anti-Iran, however the cast assures viewers that it is a positive look at the community. This series will include episodes such as “Whisky Makes You Frisky" and "The Persian Nose Business".
