
Minister of Culture, Nadia Labidi, hailed the rich artistic career of actor Sid Ali Kouiret, died Sunday evening, saying that the deceased was an "unrivalled" actor hors pair
"With the passing away of Sid Ali Kouiret, the art scene has lost one of the great figures of Algerian cinema and theater," said Sunday Labidi in a condolence message.
"The late distinguished himself by interpreting leading roles in several films, including about the glorious revolution that will remain forever witnesses of his immense talent," wrote the minister.
Born on January 3, 1933 in Algiers, Sid Ali Kouiret marked Algerian cinema since independence by performing in several major works like "Opium and stick," " Chronicles of the Years of Fire" and "December".
