Ushtrasana: Provides strength and flexibility

This asana is a boon for those suffering from backache. It also tones the neck region and regulates the thyroid gland. It keeps the body agile and fit.
Ushtrasana
* Start in Vajrasana and kneel on the mat, keeping back straight and hands by the sides.
* Slowly lean backwards, taking right hand to right heel and then left hand to left heel. Do not strain the back.
* Push abdomen forward while keeping thighs in a vertical position and dropping head back as far as possible.
* Inhale while getting into this position and breathe normally.
* Hold for 10-30 seconds.
* Slowly return to the start position by releasing hands one by one and sit in Vajrasana.
* Bend forward and stretch the back.
