
UAE Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met here yesterday with a delegation from the US Senate, led by Senator John McCain, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Armed Services.
The meeting touched on bilateral relations and the opportunities to sustain peace and stability and to enhance development efforts in the Middle East.
Sheikh Abdullah exchanged views with the US delegation members on the latest regional and international developments and reviewed with them initiatives and efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region, as well as the two countries' joint cooperation in countering terrorism and promoting peace, stability and development in the region.
Sheikh Abdullah expressed the UAE's support to the current efforts to counter terrorism and extremism in the region and the world. He stressed the need to restore security in the whole region and to unify counter-terrorism efforts.
He referred to growing cooperation and exchange of visits by officials in the two countries and underlined the two countries' strategic partnership in all fields, their bilateral agreements in different fields and their identical views on various regional and global issues.
