
India megastar Amitabh Bachchan, 72, arrived here on Monday to take part in the "India by the Nile festival".
Films starred by Bachchan will be screened through the Indian festival.
He will hold a press conference at Marriott Hotel on Tuesday to be followed by a special ceremony at Mina House Oberoi hotel.
Airport officials, media people and many of his fans were at the VIP lounge to receive the Indian film legendary.
Bachchan is also set to receive an honorary doctorate from the Academy of Arts, Egypt.
Born in 1949, Bachchan catapulted to fame when he cast a leading role in the Hindi action-thriller Zanjir (1973). Over the four decades of his active film career, he has appeared in over 100 films, garnering numerous awards as Best Actor.
Most recently, he was awarded India's Padma Vibhushan award for his service to the nation.
