
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab is to open the 24th conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs on Saturday.
The two-day conference will be organized under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark's Diocese, Mufti of the Republic Shawki Allam and a host of officials and Azhar scholars will attend the inauguration.
It's expected the event will be attended by 30 Awqaf and Islamic affairs ministers.
The timing of the conference reflects Egypt's leading role in the Arab and Muslim world, Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa said on Friday.
