International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr chaired on Thursday the second meeting of the board of a project to develop and demine Egypt's north-west coast.
Present at the meeting were representatives of the European Union, the UN Development Program, as well as ministries of defense, foreign affairs, agriculture and housing.
Nasr said her ministry exerts strenuous efforts to develop Egypt's north-west coast by providing job opportunities for women and youth and establishing development projects there.
The meeting comes as part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to achieve the goals of Egypt's 2030 sustainable development plan and demine 260,000 feddans in the north-west coast and Sinai, she noted.
Development partners have provided a total of 17.5 million dollars for the demining process and raising awareness among people on the treats of landmines.
