Pope Tawadros II on Wednesday evening visited St. Bishoy monastery in Wadi Natrun, the resting place of late Pope Shenouda III.
Pope Tawadros perfumed the tomb of Pope Shenouda on his fifth departure anniversary.
Anba Sarabamoun, the Bishop and Abbot of St. Bishoy monastery, and Anba Isaa, General Bishop of Fayoum, and a number of monks participated in perfuming the tomb.
On Friday, the Coptic Orthodox Church will commemorate the fifth departure anniversary of Pope Shenouda.
Pope Shenouda died on March 17 of 2012 of lung and liver complications at his official residence shortly after returning from medical treatment abroad.
