Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Thursday attended a meeting of the International Syria Support Group in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
Shoukry asserted at the meeting that the international community is looking forward to implementing a ceasefire in the war-torn country as soon as possible and that all parties adhere to it without violations.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid, in a press release, said the meeting is the second of its kind in two days.
The meeting showed that there is a real will on part of the participants to reach a ceasefire in Syria for having a time space allowing to extend relief assistance to those stranded inside Syrian cities, added the spokesman.
