
Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Quality and Development, Dr. Walid Khalid Al-Falah said said on Saturday a sepcial team has made a great effort in bringing to light a draft law on patients' rights as being one of the most important laws in the field of health services in developed countries.
Al-Falah, head of the working group to prepare a draft law on patients' rights, said in a statement to KUNA that the law, once approved, will make Kuwait catch up with the leading countries in this field in order to make a big leap in the quality of patients care in particular, and human rights in the country in general.
He explained that the existence of such a law within the system of health legislation in Kuwait will boost confidence in the health system as a whole and preserves the rights of patients and beneficiaries of the health care facilities of various levels.
Among the new global development goals beyond 2015 whose main features are formulated by the United Nations and international bodies and organizations in preparation for discussion and approval by a prospective meeting of the United Nations summit in September 2015, underlines the importance of the integration of the standards and principles of human rights within the new global development goals beyond 2015.
Al-Falah added that the issue of patients' rights has become a hot topic for everyone interested in the development of health services and improvement of the quality system to fit the needs of people in countries around the world.
