Four well-known bodybuilders were arrested in Madrid for allegedly trafficking in illegal anabolic steroids, police said. Investigators launched "Operation Gym" in April after police busted the sale of 75 doses of steroids and androgens outside of a gym in the Las Rozas Township. The investigation led them to a nutritional supplements store being used as front for steroid dealers. ThinkSpain reported police arrested four suspects June 5, all well-known in the world of professional bodybuilding; the shop owner, who was the alleged head of the operation, two other men allegedly responsible for enlisting new clients, and a personal trainer who allegedly distributed steroids at the gym where he worked. All four have been charged with crimes against public health, and three of them have been charged with involvement in organized crime. Police confiscated 2,333 doses of different kinds of steroids and androgens on searching the store and the suspects' homes. They also confiscated syringes, promotional leaflets and $5,502 in cash.
